Our Mission

Creatio leads people to the Creator through the beauty of His creation.

We lead pilgrimages across the United States and Europe; using both landscapes and rich cultures to facilitate a profound experience that is often the stepping stone in a pilgrim’s life towards closer unity with God.

It is on the trail, immersed in beauty, surrounded by fellow pilgrims, sitting in silence with yourself where you are primed to hear your Creator. It is where sight is restored, and relationships rebuilt; relationships with yourself, with the world around you, with other people, and with God.

A Path to Beauty

Our vision of our lives on earth is the Via Pulchritudinis, “A Path to Beauty”. The Catholic Church describes our lives as a pilgrimage back to Heaven. So our path is from the beauty of this world to Beauty itself, God. We lead pilgrimages because walking a shorter pilgrimage reminds us of and restore this vision, this reality that our entire life is a pilgrimage to God.

We do not just plan the pilgrimage for you, our missionaries walk with you both physically and spiritually. Our pilgrimages, just like life, ought not be walked alone.

Trancendance

Beauty is the door that we lead other through to begin the journey of our hearts. As Luigi Giussani writes, “Beauty awakens the heart to its desire.” The mountain top nor the cathedral are the “end”. Yes you have made it, completed it, went the distance, but the path has only just begun. It is when we go to the heights that we begin to go to the depths of our souls.

Transformation

With our hearts primed with excitement and perhaps a sense of competition, we always encounter trails. No matter if it is the death of a loved on or blisters on the feet in the middle of the route, we slow down and remember that suffering is never wastes when it is united with our Lord. This is transformation, not just growth in our human endurance but shedding of our old selves unveiling the image of Christ shining through and in us.

Communion

Unity. Harmony. Communion. This is the end. While never found in this life, the transformation God leads us through with His grace heals, deepens, and restores our relationship with ourself, the world, other people, and God himself. We were made for communion, that is our ultimate goal, to be in total communion with God in Heaven. This is the path to Beauty through beauty.
