Letters from the trail
Read contemplations from Missionary Guides, and past participants
The Necessary Silence of the Mind
“Silence is craved but when found it is too often pushed out and replaced or fled from. Even though it is necessary, we deprive Silence of its rightful place in our lives. In truth, Silence scares us humans because it is presence with the Almighty. In true Silence, all is laid bare between us and God. At the same time, the door to our interior lives is unlocked.”
By MG alum John Henry
Detachment
“Detachment, this has been the most important word for me in the last year. In March 2025, I was traveling around the world, having just left Calcutta and the Missionaries of Charity there. I spent January and February with them, serving mainly in their home for the dying…”

Letters from the Trail: #1
My friends and fellow pilgrims!
Welcome to Creatio’s Substack, Letters from the Trail. In past years, this has been a simple email list, irregularly published, but often to great enjoyment on the part of our supporters. It helped give a sense of what the missionaries were up to all year, and from our end, gave us a place to share a few of the wonderful things God does on each pilgrimage.
